Several Members of the Freedom Movement of Iran have been arrested along with the Secretary General during a trip to Isfahan for a funeral.

RAHANA: Dr. Ebrahim Yazdi, Hashem Sabaghian, Dr. Ghafar Farzodi and Ahmad Rezaei, members of the central branch of the Freedom Movement of Iran, who had traveled to Isfahan in order to attend the funeral of a member of the Isfahan branch of the party, were detained along with Dr. Seyed Ali Asghar Gharavi, the head of the Isfahan.

According to Mizan News, they were arrested when several members of the party had gathered to say their prayers. The plainclothes agents entered the house with force and without a proof of warrant. They arrested Secretary-General Dr. Ebrahim Yazdi, central branch member, Hashem Sabaghian, Isfahan branch member Dr. Seyed, Azarbayijan branch member Dr. Ghafar Farzodi, and Zanjan branch member Ahad Rezaei along with several other individuals in the house such as Moslehi and Varpaei.

Plainclothes agents who had introduced themselves as security authorities and Basij members arrested Dr. Gharavi under the pretext that he has organized an unlawful Friday Prayers. After the arrests were made, they tried to scare others by threatening and videotaping them and recoding their information. They left the place afterwards.
