Not only the duration of phone conversations for Rajai Shahr Prisoners has been reduced to a few minutes per day, but they also have to wait in long lines in order to make a call.

RAHANA – The restrictions on the prison calls have been set in order to control the prisoners’ conversations. However, other prisoners who have been convicted of crimes such as murder or smuggling drugs are allowed to use the phone as much as they desire.

According to Kaleme, the prison authorities have requested that the prisoners provide them with the phone numbers of people they are planning to call in advance. Many Prisoners have objected to the new policy since they are not allowed to dial a different number than the one they have provided.

Davaoud Soleimani, Masoud Bastani, Ahmad Zeidabadi, Mehdi Mahmoudian, Easa Saharkhiz, Mansour Osanlou, Rasoul Bodaghi and Heshmatollah Tabarzadi are among the prisoners who have objected.

The prisoners have stated that they will think of other measures if the authorities fail to pay attention to their objections.
